Nama vs Hurom
Nama vs Hurom: What's the Difference?
Nama and Hurom both sell slow juicers, but choosing between them is more useful at the model level than asking which brand is better. The Nama models we've researched cover everyday self-feeding juicing, compact juicing, larger-batch juicing and juicing plus blending. The Hurom models we've researched focus on self-feeding with Hurom's Easy Clean, strainer-free design in two sizes.
This guide compares the current models covered on BestSlowJuicer — not every product either company has made — and then points you to the right model-level review or comparison.

The Biggest Difference Is the Model Lineup
"Nama vs Hurom" isn't one machine against another. The practical decision depends on which models you're actually comparing:
- Nama J2 — the core self-feeding option.
- Nama J3 — the compact option.
- Nama J2 XL — the larger-capacity J2 configuration.
- Nama C2 — the juicer + blender combination.
- Hurom H70 — the more compact Easy Clean model among the Hurom models we've researched.
- Hurom H400 — the larger Easy Clean model (550 ml chamber) among the Hurom models we've researched.
For an overview of Nama's range on its own, see our Nama juicer guide.
Feeding Systems: Nama vs Hurom
Every juicer covered here uses a self-feeding approach: you load prepared produce into a hopper and the auger draws it in progressively. But self-feeding isn't one identical technology across all models.
Nama's J2, J3 and J2 XL use self-feeding hoppers in different sizes, and the C2 pairs a hopper-fed juicing attachment with a separate blender jug. Hurom's H70 and H400 are both self-feeding, with a 1.8 in / 45 mm chute opening listed for the H400.
When comparing, look at hopper and feed design, how much ingredient preparation each needs, your batch workflow and the machine's size — rather than assuming all self-feeding machines behave the same.
Cleaning: Where Hurom's Easy Clean Design Stands Out
The H70 and H400 researched on BestSlowJuicer both use Hurom's Easy Cleaning Multi Auger: a two-part auger with a strainer-free chamber that integrates the straining function, instead of a conventional fine-mesh strainer.
Nama's J-series juicers take a different route: the hopper, chamber, auger, strainers and spinning brush are removable, with separate juice and coarse strainers and an included cleaning brush.
The internal designs are different, and shoppers who specifically want Hurom's strainer-free approach may place more weight on the H70 or H400. BestSlowJuicer has not performed standardized cleaning-time testing across these machines.
Size and Counter Space
Dimensions are listed width × depth × height, from manufacturer data. Compare each axis separately.
Smaller-space options
BestSlowJuicer calculation based on manufacturer-listed dimensions: the J3 is 0.5 in narrower, 2.2 in shallower and 1.3 in shorter than the H70.
Larger machines
| Model | Listed dimensions |
|---|---|
| Nama J2 | 9.8 × 9.0 × 17.7 in |
| Nama J2 XL | 9.8 × 9.7 × 17.7 in |
| Nama C2 | 10.1 × 11.6 × 20.0 in (juicer) |
| Hurom H400 | 6.6 × 10.3 × 18.5 in |
Motor Power
| Model | Listed power |
|---|---|
| Nama J2 | 200W |
| Nama J3 | 130W |
| Nama J2 XL | 200W |
| Nama C2 | 200W (juicer) · 1,000W (blender) |
| Hurom H70 | 150W |
| Hurom H400 | 150W |
Higher listed wattage doesn't automatically mean more juice, better juice, less clogging, faster processing or better durability — these machines use different internal systems. For model-level detail see Nama J2 vs Hurom H70.
RPM
| Model | Listed speed |
|---|---|
| Nama J2 | 50 RPM |
| Nama J3 | 50 RPM |
| Nama J2 XL | 50 RPM |
| Nama C2 | 50 RPM (juicer) |
| Hurom H70 | 60/70 RPM |
| Hurom H400 | 90 RPM |
RPM differs by machine, and a lower number doesn't automatically mean better juice or nutrient retention. For how slow juicers differ from high-speed machines, see cold press vs centrifugal juicers.

What If You Juice Larger Batches?
The Nama J2 XL is the larger-capacity version of the J2 platform, intended for bigger batches per session, while the Nama J2 is the standard self-feeding model. On the Hurom side, the H400 lists a 550 ml / 18.6 oz chamber and up to 30 minutes of continuous use.
We haven't tested juice output across these machines. For other batch-oriented slow juicers, see our best cold press juicers guide.

Among the models currently covered by BestSlowJuicer, the Nama C2 is the only one that combines juicing and blending, using one base with separate juicing and blending attachments.
What About Plant-Based Milk?
The Nama M1 is a plant-based milk maker, not a juicer, so it isn't part of the juicer comparison above.
Warranty
All four Nama juicers covered here list a 15-year warranty. Both Hurom models list 15 years on motor and parts. Coverage can depend on the model, region, purchase source, exclusions and manufacturer terms, so check the current terms before buying.

Nama vs Hurom FAQs
What is the main difference between Nama and Hurom juicers?
Among the models we cover, Nama offers more formats — a core self-feeding juicer (J2), a compact model (J3), a larger-capacity J2 XL and a juicer/blender (C2) — while the two Hurom models we cover (H70 and H400) are both built around Hurom's strainer-free Easy Cleaning Multi Auger. The right choice depends on the specific model, not the brand.
Is Nama better than Hurom?
Not universally. Nama's covered range suits shoppers who want a specific format such as compact, larger-batch or juicer-plus-blender. Compare the exact models you're considering on our comparisons page.
Is Hurom better than Nama?
There's no brand-wide winner. The H70 and H400 appeal most to buyers who specifically want a strainer-free Easy Clean design; whether that outweighs a Nama model's format depends on your routine.
Are Nama and Hurom both cold press juicer brands?
Every Nama and Hurom juicer covered on BestSlowJuicer is a slow (cold press style) juicer. We don't make claims about products we haven't researched.
Which Nama juicer is most similar to the Hurom H400?
The Nama J2 is the closest in role: both are full-size self-feeding slow juicers with 15-year warranties. Internally they differ — the J2 uses removable strainers while the H400 uses the Easy Cleaning Multi Auger. See our Nama J2 vs Hurom H400 comparison.
How does the Nama J2 compare with the Hurom H70?
Both are self-feeding. The J2 is listed at 200W and 50 RPM with conventional strainers; the H70 at 150W and 60/70 RPM with a strainer-free chamber, and a narrower listed footprint. See our Nama J2 vs Hurom H70 comparison.
How does the Nama J2 compare with the Hurom H400?
Both are self-feeding slow juicers. The J2 lists 200W and 50 RPM; the H400 lists 150W, 90 RPM and a 550 ml chamber with the Easy Cleaning Multi Auger. See our Nama J2 vs Hurom H400 comparison.
Which brand has self-feeding juicers?
Both. All four Nama juicers and both Hurom models covered on BestSlowJuicer use self-feeding designs, though each hopper and feed system differs.
Which is easier to clean, Nama or Hurom?
We can't name a brand-wide winner. The H70 and H400 use a strainer-free Easy Clean design intended to reduce fine-mesh cleaning, while Nama's J-series use removable strainers and include a cleaning brush. We haven't performed standardized cleaning-time testing.
Which brand has a compact juicer?
Both have a compact option among the models we cover: the Nama J3 (6.3 × 6.3 × 15.9 in) and the Hurom H70 (6.8 × 8.5 × 17.2 in). The J3 lists smaller dimensions on each axis.
Which is better for celery?
No brand is proven better for celery. Self-feeding machines from both brands can handle celery when prepared per manufacturer guidance. See our best juicer for celery guide.
Which is better for ginger?
No brand-wide winner. Ginger is usually juiced with other produce, and we haven't tested standardized ginger yield. See our best juicer for ginger guide.
Which is better for carrots?
No brand is proven better for carrots. Feed design and preparation matter more than the brand. See our best juicer for carrots guide.
Does Nama have a discount code?
Yes. Code MOH10 gives 10% off eligible Nama purchases. Promotional affiliate code. Terms may change without notice.
Does Hurom have a discount code?
BestSlowJuicer doesn't currently display a verified Hurom discount code. Check the current retailer listing for available offers.
Should I buy a Nama or Hurom?
Start with the format you need — compact, larger-batch, juicer plus blender, or strainer-free Easy Clean — then compare the individual models. The model-level differences matter more than the logo on the front of the machine.
